Deuteronomy 28:2

Have you ever stood in a stream and felt the power of the current pulling everything downstream?  Have you ever tried to outrun the wind on a March afternoon?  These are similar ideas to how Moses describes the flow of God's blessings for those who obey Him.

In Moses' book called Deuteronomy at chapter 28 and verse 2 it says, "All these blessings will overtake you and will accompany you if you obey the Lord your God."  It is as if Moses is saying the blessings of God will come upon us just by our standing still if we are obedient to God's will.

Picture this for how this works.  It's like you're standing in a river bed on hot, dry ground and you hear a sound coming up behind you.  It's a cool, refreshing stream coming down the river bed and enveloping you in its wake.  Moses is saying that God's blessings will overtake you like a river when you pursue His will and obey His commands.

In today's competition make it your goal to have your best performance of the year, this would be fitting with God's desire for you.  As you run, look over your shoulder once in a while and don't be surprised if God's blessings are coming up behind you and even overtaking you.  He loves you dearly.
