W E A K N E S S
II Corinthians 5:16

Might one of your teammates have a glaring weakness?  Maybe it's a part of his game that's incomplete or maybe it's a character flaw.  Do you make that weakness the defining characteristic of the person?

Paul wrote to his friends in Corinth in his second letter at chapter 5 and verse 16, "So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view."  I would paraphrase like this, "So from now on I will not let someone's personal weakness be that person's defining characteristic."

Just as we wouldn't focus totally on a person's limitations physically, I am committed to the same attitude in matters of faithfulness to commitments.  I'm committed to pray for you and to encourage you when you act wisely and when you act foolishly.  I'm committed to you when you do right and when you do wrong.  On your good days and on your bad days.  Your bad day behavior will not deter me from loving you and seeking God's best for you.

Take this attitude to heart and employ it in relation to each other on your team.  This is what love looks like, whole-hearted commitment.  Take that into today's competition for a day marked by great performances and even greater character.
