T E A M W O R K
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

How critical is good teamwork to your individual success?  How much of your success can you directly tie to your teammates and their support?  Few of us ever achieve greatly on our own and today’s scripture outlines two reasons why.

In the fourth chapter of the book of Ecclesiastes at verses 9 and 10 we read, “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work; If one falls down, his friend can help him up.  But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!”

Number one: Two are better than one because they don’t just add to each other, nor do they simply multiply their work, instead two have an exponentially better return for their work.  Amazing things can be accomplished by people who align themselves to achieve a goal.

Number two:  Even in failure, they’re able to recover and to press on toward their goals.  If one falls down, the other can help him up, encourage him and the two continue on their way.  If we fail while isolated, we’re in real danger of being left behind and unable to complete the race.

In preparation for this day’s competition, be thankful for your teammates.  Be confident in the exponential increase that comes through your unified teamwork.  Watch for your stumbling teammate and be ready to help him through the rough spots in the season.  Together, we’ll achieve more highly than any of us could individually.
